Open Lammas Meditation and Feast
August 1, 2017 @ 8:00 PMto10:00 PM
Event Fee: A potluck dish, beverage, or spirit for the feast, or bring a $15 donation to put in the temple fund jar if unable to cook.
We are in the dog days of summer, the gardens and fields are full of bounty and the harvest is approaching. Take a moment to relax in the heat, and reflect on the upcoming abundance of the fall months. At Lammas, also called Lughnasadh, it’s time to begin reaping what we have sown throughout the past few months, and recognize that the bright summer days will soon come to an end. Bring a dish to celebrate the Earth’s abundance, or a bottle of wine or mead to toast Wiccan Thanksgiving and to share with all in attendance!
Spaces are limited; we have a 15 guest maximum so please reserve your spot in advance as much as possible. You may comment here in the event or message us to ask if we have space for extra guests, and please let us know if will be bringing extra guests with you.
Please RSVP by clicking or tapping the “Reserve Your Spot” button below as well as commenting here in the event with what you’re bringing (potluck dish or beverage or a cash donation) by Monday, July 31st at 11:59pm. Please reach out to us for any exceptions when possible. When RSVP’ing, please comment here in this event with how you are paying for paid events, or what you are bringing for donation events. If you are bringing (an) additional guest(s), please also include “+” and how many extra guests you will be bringing. Please keep in mind, there will not always be available spaces.
No one under 18 is admitted unless with a parent or trusted guardian. Please let us know if you wish to bring children when RSVP’ing, and with how many. We may have to decline children if circle is too advanced for younger practitioners.
Everyone has a chance to arrive, settle in, and mingle for the first 15 minutes of the event. Guests will not be admitted after 30 minutes; if we have already started grounding, centering, and meditation, it will be distracting. Please let us know if you are running late so we can anticipate your arrival. If you regrettably can no longer attend, please contact us as soon as possible or simply un- RSVP from the event and comment.
Please put your cell phones on silent or shut them off when circle begins. Be mindful that this is a public religious and spiritual event, so please be positive and treat everyone with respect, the way you would treat a member of your own family, coven, or circle, or a close friend. Please be mindful of the energy you bring into the circle. Refrain from using excessively foul or discriminating language, or perverse comments. If you don’t have anything nice to say, please don’t say anything at all! Let’s just have some fun!
While we will occasionally toast to the Gods with mead and ale, we do not permit heavy drinking as well as drug use during events and circles.
We reserve the right to turn away anyone or ask anyone to leave at any time if we feel that ourselves, our guests, our space, and our time is disrespected in any way. We just want to make sure everyone is feeling loved and respected and having a great time in a safe space!
Come sit a spell! You can subscribe to our events on Facebook and be the first to know about new goings on and updates! Blessings and magick!
